New Zealand

Woven by hand in Indonesia,
delivered to your door in New Zealand.

Every piece is woven by hand from rattan, pandanus, water hyacinth and mendong — by artisans in Java and Bali who have worked these materials for generations. Nothing is machine-pressed, and no two pieces are identical.

What we make

We sell to New Zealand households and to trade buyers — cafés, lodges, interior designers and hotel fit-outs. Volumes and lead times differ, so tell us which you are when you enquire.

Shipping & New Zealand biosecurity

Getting it to you

We ship from Indonesia. Freight is quoted per order, because woven goods are light but bulky — a single large panel can cost more to send than a dozen bags. We confirm transit time with your quote.

Duties and GST on import are payable by the receiver under New Zealand rules. We tell you what to expect before you commit.

Plant-fibre goods and MPI

New Zealand has some of the strictest biosecurity rules in the world, and our products are made from plant fibre. Every shipment is prepared to meet Ministry for Primary Industries requirements — which can include heat treatment or fumigation and a phytosanitary certificate from Indonesia.

We handle this as part of your order rather than leaving it to chance at the border. If a piece cannot be treated to meet the standard, we say so instead of shipping it and hoping.

Who makes it

Bounty & Weave works directly with weaving families in Central Java and Bali. The materials are grown and harvested locally — rattan from managed stands, water hyacinth cleared from waterways, pandanus and mendong from smallholder plots.

Because the work is done by hand, colour and weave vary slightly between pieces. We treat that as the point rather than a fault, and we would rather tell you now than have it arrive as a surprise.
